SENIOR HURLERS: The Senior Hurling Championship begins with a tough assignment against holders Na Piarsaigh on Friday August 2 at 7.30pm at the TUS Gaelic Grounds. Tickets must be purchased in advance on the Limerick GAA website.

JUNIOR A HURLERS: Patrickswell face Castletown Ballyagran in the Championship opener on Sunday August 4 at 4pm in Staker Wallace. Tickets must be purchased in advance on the Limerick GAA website.

MINOR HURLERS: Patrickswell won their second match of the Championship against Blackrock away. The ‘Well dominated the opening quarter and led by 0-6 to 0-3 thanks to John Murray (0-3), Harry McDonagh, Dayle McDonagh and Ryan Foley. The remainder of the first half was extremely positive as John Murray helped himself to a goal and three points, while Eoin Hennessy and Dayle McDonagh also chipped in. The half-time score was 1-11 to 0-4.

Rory Foley’s slice of luck at the re-start yielded a goal when his long range effort bounced over the goalkeeper. By the 33rd minute, Patrickswell were thirteen points ahead at 2-12 to 0-5. To their credit, Blackrock responded with four consecutive points. There was no gallant comeback as Tom O’Brien’s boys pounded Blackrock with nine more points in eighteen minutes (John Murray 0-5, Ryan Foley 0-2, Eoin Hennessy and Harry McDonagh). The final result was a 2-21 to 0-10 victory.

CLUB LOTTO: The Club Lotto draw on Monday July 22 was not won. The numbers drawn were 6, 15, 18 and 26. The bonus number was 13. The €50 Lucky Dips were won by Mike Gavin and John Quaid, while the €20 prizes were claimed by Siobhan Hickey, Pa Earls, Declan Tierney, Sean Foley, Evelyn Adams and Bernie Scully. This week’s jackpot is €12,600.
