SENIOR HURLERS: The Senior hurlers defeated Ballybrown in the final City League group match. The opening ten minutes were frenetic, as Patrickswell and Ballybrown traded four points apiece (John Murray, Thomas O’Brien 0-2 and Gavin Carey). The pace dropped somewhat and Patrickswell led by 0-7 to 0-6 in the 20th minute, thanks to a brace of points from Jack Kelleher and a single point from Kevin O’Brien. Thomas O’Brien notched a close range goal, while Jack Kelleher and John Murray extended the lead to 1-9 to 0-6. The final stages of the first half was an exchange of three points each. Jack Kelleher increased his tally with two more points and Patrick Kirby scored a point. The interval score was 1-12 to 0-9.

At the start of the second half, the ‘Well kept Ballybrown at arm’s length. Cian Gorman’s goal was sandwiched between John Murray and John Kirby points. With 40 minutes elapsed, Ciaran Carey’s men led by 2-14 to 0-14. The game was effectively decided when Jack Kelleher, Patrick Kirby and John Murray built an unassailable 2-17 to 0-14 lead with ten minutes left. Ballybrown rallied with four unanswered points, but Jack Kelleher put the gloss on a 2-18 to 0-19 win.

JUNIOR A HURLERS: Patrickswell face Ballybrown away in the Junior A City League on Monday May 20 at 7.00pm.

INTER-COUNTY HURLERS: Best wishes to Limerick’s hurlers and the Patrickswell contingent of Diarmaid, Aaron, Cian and Jason against Waterford in the Munster Championship.

CLUB LOTTO: The Club Lotto draw on Monday May 13 was not won. The numbers drawn were 11, 12, 15 and 24. The bonus number was 8. The €50 Lucky Dips were won by Danny & Alannah and Mary Carroll, while the €20 prizes were claimed by Ailish Hogan, Patricia Carroll, Cruze Loftus, Denise Darcy, Aidan Jones and Clare Bowman.
