U-12 FOOTBALLERS MAKING PROGRESS

Our U-12 footballers are going great guns at the moment having picked up maximum points out of three games in the preliminary stages of the City League.

Results so far are Patrickswell 2-5, Pallaskenry 0-0; Patrickswell 0-5, Ballybrown 1-1 and Patrickswell 1-13, Kildimo 1-2. The pick of the three games was our outing against Ballybrown where both teams produced a marvelous contest and a feast of football.  We now advance to the semi-finals this weekend.

The panel of players is: John Tuohy, Cathal Bennis, James Carrig, Keith Dundon, Thomas Kiely, Kelvin Lynch, John Long, Mark Carmody, Jordan Delee, David Woulfe, Jack Kelliher, Diarmuid Byrnes, Cian Lynch, Kevin O' Brien, Paul Joyce, Dara Dundon, Dean Shanahan, Dara Shanahan, Sean Conway, Jason Carey, Keith Cawley, Lorcan Russell, Tim Dunworth

Training continues on Thursdays at 5pm for U12.

FUTURE LOOKS BRIGHT FOR U-14 FOOTBALLERS

Despite having drawn one and lost two matches so far in the City U-14A football league, the future looks very bright for underage football in the ‘Well.

It took us until the second half to get to grips with a powerful Monaleen team, who defeated us on the scoreline Monaleen 2-6, Patrickswell 1-0.  Having won the U-14B county title in 2004, this was our first match at A level at this age group and we couldn’t have got a tougher start as Monaleen are the defending county champions at A level.

Having outplayed highly rated Mungret for long periods, we were most unfortunate in the second half when Mungret grabbed a late goal 5 minutes from fulltime to snatch the game from us on the low scoreline Mungret 1-0, Patrickswell 0-2.

Showing a little bit of inexperience, we got a hard earned draw against a slick Claughaun outfit who were living off scraps for most of a game we dominated for long periods.  The final score was Patrickswell 3-2, Claughaun 2-5.

The panel of players is: James Keane, John Long, Jamie Daly, Ned Harty, Mark Carmody, Keith Hurley, Dean Cawley, Nigel Foley, Cian Russell, David Carroll, Thomas Nolan, Brian O Sullivan, Jordan Delee, Stephen Fitzgerald, Niall Carrig, Brian Buston, Colm Buston, Jamie Dinnage, Kevin O Brien, Diarmuid Byrnes, David Woulfe.

We have one more match against Na Piarsaigh on Sunday at 6.30pm at home.

Training continues on Thursdays at 6.15pm for U13, U14 and U15.
