Patrickswell
Camogie Weekly Notes w/e 25th April 04 The
Patrickswell Camogie Team kicked off the year with a great win over Crecora at
home in the Intermediate League semi-final with a scoreline of 4-3 to 5pts. This
was the re-match the Patrickswell Ladies wanted. Crecora were lucky to beat them
by a single point in the Junior Championship Final last year and the ‘Well
ladies were out to prove that! The opening few minutes of the game showed the
tension between these two teams. Goals
in the first half came from Gloria O’Donnell, Carmel Kirby and Linda Moran.
While Siobhan O’Brien and Linda Moran added 2 points. Crecora
did manage to get 4 points on the board 2 from frees and 2 from play. Patrickswell
had a 7 point advantage going into the second half! It
took a while for both teams to get back onto the scoring board. Ciara
Ryan scored a great point from the touchline and Gloria O’Donnell added
another goal. Crecora managed to get another point on the board from a free.
While Crecora were a good side and threatened our defence a few times. This
proved no problem for our full back and half back lines who managed to come out
with the ball every time. Patrickswell
were the winners and through to the Final to be played this weekend against
Adare.
Patrickswell
Camogie Weekly Notes w/e 12th October 2003 The
Patrickswell Junior Camogie Team ended the year in style with a great win over
Milford in the Junior League Final against Milford with a scoreline of 4-8 to
2-9. Patrickswell
had a great start with a superb goal from Christine Foley. Christine has been
consistent in her goal scoring throughout the year but this was one of her
finest as she took her shot from the Corner Flag. 2
Frees from Amanda Buston and 1 from Ciara Ryan put Patrickswell well on there
way. However Milford managed to squeeze through what was a tight Patrickswell
defence for a goal. Milford kept putting the points on the board from Frees and
Patrickswell were now under pressure. Siobhan O’Brien scored the last point of
the first half. Milford was now 3 points ahead on a scoreline of 1-7 to 1-4. Patrickswell
Management had a few choice words to say at half time. But this proved to be the
medicine that the Determined Ladies needed. Patrickswell were not going to be
defeated. A
change was made at half time which may have been the winning of the game. Linda
Moran went in Corner Forward and Christine Carroll came out Midfield. Linda
caught a ball out on the sideline and used her speed to head for goals. With 3
Milford players on her heels Linda put the ball in the back of the net. Milford
and Patrickswell exchanged point after point which was making this a very close
match. However
with Christine Carroll and Christine Foley scoring a goal each, late in the
second half, this was exactly what was needed to win such hard fought game. This
Win helped make up for the disappointment of losing against Crecora in the
Championship Final by a point. I’m sure the ‘Well’ Ladies will relish
meeting Crecora in the Intermediate league next year. A
Big Thank You must go to All our Supporters and Mentors especially Neily Boyle,
John Enright and Teresa Ryan who worked hard training this team since February. Pls
note that the Patrickswell Camogie AGM will be held in the Clubhouse on Thursday
13th November @ 8:30pm. We
would like to Congratulate our Senior Hurlers on winning the County Final
against Adare on Sunday 12th October and Best Wishes for the rest of
the year.

Camogie Notes: Congratulations
to the Patrickswell U12 Camogie Team who won the County Final on Thurs 12th
June. They had a great victory over Bruff in Croagh with a scoreline of 3 goals
to 1 goal. Bruff
went a goal ahead a few minutes after the starting whistle. But
Patrickswell hit back with a superb goal from Erica Balfry. The
2nd goal of the night came 2 mins into the second half from Orla
Joyce.15mins later a joint effort from Jessica Kiely and Nicole Lynch scored
Patrickswell’s 3rd Goal. This was to be the final goal of the day
and sealed what was a Galant Win for this Hardworking Team. It
was a great day for Patrickswell Camogie as it was the first underage medal to
be brought back to the club for many years. Team
as follows: Samantha Reidy, Ruth Buckley, Katie Murphy, Tanika Delee, Sarah
Mann, Jessica Kiely, Orla Joyce, Erica Balfry, Sarah Carey, Lisa Buston, Fiona
